Poached Rooster


  • 1 total rooster (about 4 kilos)
  • 1 medium onion, halved
  • 2 garlic cloves, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons low salt


  1. 1. Field rooster, breast aspect down, onion, garlic, and salt in a successfully-organized pot. Cloak with water. Carry to a boil. Cloak, within the slice value of heat, and simmer for 40 minutes. Win rooster from pot, reserving 1/2 cup cooking liquid. Let rooster stand till frigid ample to address. Shred meat, and combine with reserved cooking liquid.
